AlgoFace Network Optix Face Redaction Plug-In - How it works
What does it take to add automated face redaction to your video management system? This video walks through setting up the AlgoFace Face Redaction plug-in for Network Optix Nx Witness. Watch the video to see the setup in action.
What does the AlgoFace Network Optix Face Redaction Plug-In do?
The AlgoFace Network Optix Face Redaction Plug-In automatically detects and redacts faces in video, in real time, at the edge. It works with both live video streams and recorded video files.
Once installed, the plug-in:
- Analyzes the video feed using AlgoFace’s AI to detect faces.
- Applies redaction to every detected face automatically.
- Outputs a fully redacted RTSP stream.
This redacted RTSP stream can then be added into Nx Witness just like any other camera or video source, so your teams can view or record it without changing their usual workflows.
How does it support privacy and compliance?
The plug-in is designed to help you rethink how you handle video privacy by redacting faces before the video leaves the edge device.
Key points for privacy and compliance:
- No biometric data transfer or retention: Faces are detected and redacted locally, without transferring or storing biometric identifiers.
- Real-time processing: Redaction happens as the video is processed, so the RTSP stream you use in Nx Witness is already fully redacted.
- Cross-industry use: This approach supports privacy and compliance needs in sectors like retail, transportation, education, healthcare, and public spaces where face visibility may be sensitive.
By ensuring that faces are obscured in the video you store and view, the plug-in helps reduce privacy risks and supports compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
How does it integrate with Nx Witness?
The plug-in outputs a fully redacted RTSP stream that plugs directly into Nx Witness.
From a user perspective:
- You add the redacted RTSP stream into Nx Witness as if it were a standard camera or video device.
- In the Nx Witness interface, it appears like any other video source.
- Your team can view, monitor, and record the redacted stream using the same tools and layouts they already use.
This lets you reimagine your video workflows with built-in face redaction, without requiring major changes to how operators work day to day.
